Nutritional issues in IBD
According to Cabre and Gassull (2001), the incidence of malnutrition in IBD patients is upto 85%. Malnutrition can be caused by drug-nutrient interactions, nutrient losses, reduced absorption, increased requirements and poor dietary intake during an acute flare-up.
